6 Reasons Why We Need To
Vote AGAINST The Sales Tax
1. We do
receive 911 fees even though we have been told that the
"State" Took all 911 fees.

2. According
to the John Locke Foundation, Wayne County has over $39
Million in Reserves. The News Argus agrees
that the county should spend some of the savings rather
than adding another tax.

3. A
Communication System called Viper will be furnished to
Wayne County at no costs. This system has been accepted
by 43 other counties like Johnston, Lenoir, Wake, and
Pitt Counties. If it is good enough for those counties
and the NC HIGHWAY PATROL, why is it not good enough for
Wayne County???

4. Let's use
the $9.5 Million of OUR LOCAL TAX DOLLARS to Build New
Schools and Take the State Up On Their Offer To Pay For
Our Communication System.
5. Other
counties have promised to make this revenue neutral.
They have promised to reduce property taxes to make up
for the additional revenue from a sales tax if approved.
Wayne County has made no such comittment.
6. Wayne
County is in DESPERATE NEED of NEW SCHOOLS. Our children
are in overcrowded and aged buildings. We need to save
this funding option to help pay for the SCHOOLS we MUST
BUILD in the Future. |
