GETTING TO KNOW JOE
Joe comes from a challenging childhood where
he grew up at Thornwell Orphanage. He was an
Eagle Scout as well as member of the Key and
Beta Clubs. After graduating Valedictorian
from High School, his finances would only
allow him to attend one year at Presbyterian
College.
His work varied experience includes managing a
convenience store, operation of a feeder pig
farm, managing a Donut Shop and fast food
restaurant.
Joe decided to make a career in Real Estate
and went on to become managing Broker for ERA
Eastgate Realty. He later developed several
subdivisions in Wayne County. Joe continues to
hold a NC Real Estate Brokers License.
In 1982, Joe founded Tarheel Housing Center,
Inc. which is recognized as a leading Home
Retailer in Eastern North Carolina. His
company has provided affordable homes for over
two thousand families.
Joe is most proud of his family which includes
his wife of 34 years, Joyce. They have 3
daughters Lisa, Krystal, and Heather. They
have a granddaughter, Hayley and a grandson,
Parker .
