Over 100 Attended DOT 70 Bypass Public Forum
Joe Asks The Tough
Questions:
-
Why are stop
lights being added on Hwy 70 in Craven and Carteret
Counties?
-
Why are we
asking Beston Road area residents to sacrifice more
than others?
-
If it is
acceptable to relocated traffic lights on US 70
within a county, why have we not considered moving
the light at the new McDonalds/Gas Station at the
Little River to Beston Road? Doesn't that make
common sense?
Joe promises to
push for better access for Beston Road when elected
Commissioner. He knows that elected officials are
supposed to be there to LISTEN and ACT FOR AVERAGE
CITIZENS! HE WILL DO JUST THAT.
Hundreds Attend Walnut Creek ETJ (Extra Territorial
Jurisdiction) Public Hearing
Joe attended and voiced
his opposition to the Walnut Creek Council for any
expansion of the Zoning Powers of Walnut Creek. He made
the following points:
-
The current
laws do not allow Walnut Creek to have any power of
Zoning beyond the Village Limits.
-
If this
authority is granted, the Village would have to
raise taxes to pay for additional personnel to
oversee and enforce the ETJ.
-
It is not
needed nor wanted by those living in or outside the
village.
-
This was a
BAD idea that needs to be "Tabled and Killed" and we
need to restore "GOOD WILL" with our neighbors.
Joe Pledges to OPPOSE
any additional Zoning or Annexing power for the Village
of Walnut Creek.
